Jeff Kavlick
President, co-founder
Jeff has provided strategic and technology consulting services for 20 years to clients in most industry segments. He has pioneered and led dozens of significant projects that have developed and delivered on growth strategies though process design in pricing, logistics, sales, and billing. He has expertise in delivering ground-breaking thought leadership and has authored components of three patents. Prior to founding Moreland, Jeff was an Associate Partner with Accenture. There, he specialized in custom application software engagements, testing, training, and large-scale infrastructure support outsourcing management. Jeff has a BS in Systems Engineering from the Case Western Reserve University and has developed and delivered courses in systems development and leadership throughout his career. In his spare time, he provides leadership to non-profit boards, coaches elementary school sports, and is searching for his second hole-in-one.
Greg Johnson
CEO, co-founder
Greg has over 19 years consulting experience including senior roles at Accenture and Perot Systems. A sample of Greg’s past clients include Delta Faucet, The Cleveland Clinic, Gateway Computers, Bank One, BF Goodrich, The East Ohio Gas Company, Advanced Micro Devices, Tenet Healthcare, LESCO, and RMI Titanium. An expert in CRM, business strategy, and corporate turnarounds, Greg has a proven track record of surpassing client expectations and is considered a trusted business advisor of all clients he serves. Greg has a degree in Mathematics from The Ohio State University. Industry experience includes; healthcare, banking, high-technology, manufacturing/ distribution, and consumer packaged goods. In life away from work, Greg enjoys coaching football and soccer and traveling the world with his wife and four sons. Greg is also a member of the executive board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland.
Robert Biermann
Rob brings over 20 years experience to industries such as banking, P&C and Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Manufacturing/ Distribution and High Technology. Prior to Moreland, he held senior positions at Ernst & Young, eLoyalty, and in Private Consulting. He has also held operational roles as CEO,CFO and COO in various clients with direct responsibility for corporate P&L performance ranging from $50M to $250M in sales. A sample of Rob’s past clients include General Electric, Sears, GMAC, Farmers Insurance, Amazon, The Limited, Chase Bank, Viking/Singer/Husqvarna, Whirlpool, and United Healthcare. A certified expert at defining and leading corporate renewal efforts and mission critical projects, Rob meets deadlines and budgets when results are paramount. He has an exemplary track record that speaks for itself, one-hundred-percent on-time and on-budget, with benefits meeting or exceeding defined business cases. John Carroll University and Case Western Reserve are his Alma Maters. In his spare time, Rob sits on a private corporate board; spec builds homes, plays tennis and is an avid fly fisherman.
Chris Tyner
Chris brings 16 years of extensive expertise in the selection, design, implementation, and support of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software packages. He has managed multiple, enterprise-wide, software application implementations at a number of major global manufacturing companies, including GE Plastics, Sherwin-Williams, Sun Chemical, Pizza Hut, Domino Sugar, Delta Airlines and Luxottica. In addition, Chris has significant federal, state, and county government experience. He is deeply experienced with re-engineering business processes to maximize the benefits of enterprise-wide software applications. Chris has redesigned and implemented new business processes for the transportation, purchasing, order management, human resources, and financial management business functions. He received a BA in Economics from Brown University. In his spare time, Chris enjoys travelling, coaching soccer, lumberjacking, equine activities, and family adventures.
Kurt Rippe
Kurt has worked closely with some of the world's leading companies for 15 years, helping them drive innovative, value-driven change to their businesses. He has significant experience in retail and consumer packaged goods industries, and has a broad knowledge of the business and information technology issues that are critical to companies in these industries. Prior to joining Moreland, Kurt served retail clients as a senior manager with Accenture. Kurt's expertise includes deep application and technology architecture design and implementation, leadership of custom and packaged software implementations, and planning and design of technical infrastructures. He is an experienced project leader and has significant experience with retail point-of-sale systems and supporting in-store technology. Kurt has a BSE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa, and he enjoys fishing and camping, a wide range of musical entertainment, and attending sporting events throughout the local area.
Scott Copeland
Scott has 10 years of experience in managing projects in the Utilities, Manufacturing, Retail, and Health Care industries. His specialty is projects involving custom software development, packaged software implementations, strategic pricing, and software selections. Prior to joining Moreland Partners, Scott was a manager at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), where he worked for clients such as LTV Steel, Corning, Rhodia Chemical, PJM Interconnection, and Dayton Power & Light. Scott has a B.S. from John Carroll University, where he had a double major in Finance and Economics. In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing golf, basketball, and softball, reading, and following Cleveland sports.
Scott Munn
Scott brings 6 years of managing large ERP implementations from industries such as government, healthcare, oil & gas, telecommunications, retail, and manufacturing. Prior to joining Moreland, Scott was with Accenture where he worked for large clients such as T-Mobile, ConocoPhillips, Timken, England’s National Health Services, and the Defense Logistics Agency. Scott has been a key team member on several large ERP implementations, focusing on production and scheduling, procurement, supply chain and integration between systems. He also has experience with sales and marketing, manufacturing, shipping, returns, and supply planning functional areas and has lead teams in all phases of a project life cycle. Scott graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in Management Information Systems. In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing football and softball, home improvement, as well as following his alma mater and hometown sport teams.
Brian Smith
Brian has worked on projects in the Manufacturing, Retail, and Distribution industries. Prior to joining the Moreland family, Brian worked with the J.M. Smucker Company, working directly with the Supply Chain team and implementing RFID solutions. He also worked with the Manufacturing team specializing in analytics and designing custom reports using Red Prairie’s solution. In addition, he has experience with SharePoint and web design. Brian has a BS in Management and Information Systems from Kent State University and was active in their Management and Information Systems Association. When not working, he can be found spending time in downtown Cleveland at a sporting event or playing football, softball, and/or golf.
